FK Taiwan Tour

A great day awaited our group after waking up in the beautiful Hotel Royal Jiaoxi. Wanting to “soak” it all in, I woke up at 6:30am to relax once more in our own personal hot spa bath, attend our group morning workout and of course munch on another bountiful breakfast.

DAY3     10-19-2016    Tim K. Su

Picture 1)  Personal hot spa bath with snacks, drinks and some music.

Picture 2)  The dedicated few that attended this morning’s workout led by Sue. An energizing way to start the day!

Picture 3) Breakfasts were always plentiful.

Picture 4)  Although many of us were saddened to leave such a beautiful resort, excitement set in as we packed up to depart from the hotel to catch our 9:56am train to our next destination of the day, Taroko National Park

Picture 5)  On the way to the train station, Uncle Daniel led us in memorizing our verse of the day which was John 14:6 – Jesus answered,  “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Picture 6)  At the train station in Jiaoxi.

Picture 8)  We arrived at our train around 11am and headed over to our restaurant for lunch at Dajili Tribal House for traditional local cuisine. A tribal house specialty was rice cooked in bamboo. It required a swift crack on the rocks to break open and eat.

Picture 7)  A few of us passing time as we patiently wait for the train to arrive.

Picture 9)  Some magnificent views were only a few steps away from our lunch location!

Picture 13)  After an hour long hike, we took the bus to our new hotel, The Silks Place, where dinner was served and we had a special recap event for our group.

Picture 10)  After lunch we moved on to our hike of the Taroko National Park. I was told this picture spot was a must to truly prove we have been to Taiwan!

Picture 11)  Some of the women of our group posing next to this iconic rock.

Picture 12)  Walking around tunnels alongside the Taroko Gorge, helmets were required since there was a possibility of falling rocks. Caves, waterfalls and bats were all parts of the sights we got to see!

Picture 15)  Our speakers for the evening.

Picture 14)  Panoramic View of our group.

Picture 16) Nighttime pictures of our beautiful hotel. The lit pool above overlooked cliffs and mountains. Another spectacular place to rest after a full day.
